Awareness and Education By: Carrie Rister Awareness and education is educating people about LEED, and teaching them how to be more Eco friendly. How have an ecofriendly building that helps the environment. One solution for how to educate people about LEED is to have private meetings taught by experts from LEED, and to let the public go on tours so they could see highly ranked LEED buildings.
Having meetings would let people get more information than if we used other methods, because they would be able to ask the experts questions about LEED. Also, letting people visit the buildings would help motivate them to try using what they learned to build
LEED buildings, or to get citizens more interested in learning more about LEED. Also, they would be able to learn about LEED in a visual way, helping them become more interested. Lastly, educating people would be more effective than other methods because they would know how to get more information about the subject if they were interested after the meeting.
We could put this solution into action by booking a place to hold meetings at IoD, and use their facilities (a place where you can hold LEED meetings free of charge) by using this link http://www.iod.com/home/premises/leeds/default.aspx. Also, we could hold meetings at KIH. We would hire a person to teach about LEED (either a LEED spokesperson which would the cost can vary, or we could use an employee who works for LEED, who hopefully would volunteer their time).
